Diane was born in Tripoli, Libya, the daughter of a three-star general in the US Air Force, and lived with her parents and four sisters on military bases around the world. She is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, and American University Washington College of Law, DC. She has practiced law with two of the largest law firms in Texas and worked with Texas Governor Ann Richards as the first woman appointed to the Texas Water Development Board. In 2013, Diane published her first book, The Wisdom Tree: A Mother’s Journey into Israel and Palestine, a memoir about her travels with her son Mark in southern Israel and the Palestinian West Bank. She and her husband have two sons and live in Austin, Texas, where she works to educate others about the urgent need for international recognition of the legal rights of the Palestinian people.
